GIU-Growing in Unity-Day 5

Day 5, are you still with me.  Isn't she sweet. One of my favorite things to do with the stamp sets is to see how many different ways I can use it. This is a kit from the SMAK December 2015 "helluva start".  I made a variety of projects one is a set of notecards which you'll see here and then each card individually photographed.  a blue and white and black theme. Sometimes it's nice to make a simple card, that's what this one layer card is simple and clean and fun.  I'm not going to get into a lot of descriptions because this will be a long post.  You may want to grab your favorite beverage and just take your time and look at each photograph, this post is picture heavy.

This is a journal page and I ended up repeating the word stamp several times and just layered it up with embellishments the original page was painted with gesso and painted with white acrylic.

Next up is the art tags using craft and coloring in with colored pencils and I took endorsements a very easy one layer art tag nothing fancy but just a lot of fun using the same Stamp set again.

Here's the first set of projects notecards, art tags and a journal page all use in the blue and white and black theme.

This is an art hymn page using some gelatos, if you haven't used these I'm telling  run to the store and get yourself some they are awesome they don't bleed through the pages.

here is my bible journal page, again same set, one more in the variety of ways to use your stamps if you can't afford a lot then these large sets are the way to go they usually have both line and bold stamps, sentiments and some accent design elements. They are so reasonably priced if you join the monthly membership.

Last project is my planner pages decorated using Unity stamps, stickers , and most times washi tape but didn't need any here, colored with prisma pencils.  Used distress inks for Stamping.  If you are inspired to create any of these projects be sure to share on the Unity Facebook page.  Today is your last chance to leave a comment on the blog post for your chance to win a grab bag of stamps from Unity Stamp Company, good luck to you all.  Thank you for spending some time with me this week.  I hope you enjoy every minute you can steal away to create whatever inspires you and bless others with your creations .  Happy Stamping, blessings, Michelle

GIU-Growing in Unity-Day 4

Welcome to Day 4, ready for some fun!   I grew up  in the country and for some of our passing of time we enjoyed playing cards, it was inexpensive form of entertainment.

Hey, just need the ace here for, can you guess for which card game.  Did I mention hearts are trump.

I created just one full suit; hearts and used a variety of the unity stamp images.

A variety of coloring techniques were used from watercolor with ink pads to watercolor with colored pencils and the images were cut out.

Several different background papers were  modge  podged  onto the card and then the image itself was modge podged on and used a glossy modge  podge to emulate the playing cards.   Looks like a nice run for rummy.

Haven't had the chance to play with these yet, I of course have three more suits to go.  But I look forward to a game of solitaire, especially when I'm traveling for work and am alone in the hotel room.     I hope you thought this was a fun project and I'm inspired to see if you make any of these yourself if you do please share on the unity Facebook page. Also, don't forget to leave a comment again today on the blog post for your chance to win a grab bag from unity stamp company. Happy stamping, blessings Michelle

GIU-Growin in Unity-Day 3

Day 3!  I used the  kit of the month from June 2017 "time to enjoy". These are such fun summer time stamp set and the ice cream treats are just adorable. I stamped the outline stamp on some card stock and designer paper and then water colored using ranger ink pads.  Unity stamps just stamp out so beautifully with the deeply etched red rubber, I prefer them rather than polymer stamps personally.

Distressed the edge and wrapped some twine.  Added some interest by turning the sentiment sideways.

I tried something  New for me anyway and that was to stamp the butterflies fluttering right to the top of the card and repeating my sentiment a few times on the inside. What I like about this is it only left a small area to have to hand write my note,LOL sometimes you just don't feel like writing a lot. Unfortunately, I may have to  Cover up that one area with putting a piece of card stock over because you can see the bleedthrough from the back for my handmade by, sometimes it just doesn't pay to buy cheaper supplies this white card stock was not very good.

Here is the awesome envelope to coordinate with this card, today is all about you, wouldn't   that make you feel special to get that in the mail and the cute little flower window box with the window is where I'm going to write the address isn't that great, all of the  stamps are Unity.

Hope you had a great cup of coffee and were  able to enjoy the post.  See you again tomorrow for another part of the ride on this Unity Stamp Company sponsored event.   Don't forget to leave your comment on the post again for your chance to win a grab bag of 25 stamps from Unity Stamp company,  thankful for their generosity. If you are inspired by this Card and make a creation please post on the Facebook page where we share Unity stamp cards for all to see. Happy stamping. Blessings,  Michelle

GIU-Growing in Unity-Day 2

Day 2 is here and I have  A few cards here to share today the first card is using the June sentiment kit she never says never. I used Oxide inks for the background and washi tape embellishments with a doily and some pearls and popped up the sentiment and the card base, actually is just one of those pre-printed box sets from Hobby lobby.

I  used watercolor pencils to color in the image. I liked the softness that the oxide inks and water color pencils created with this card.   I used watercolor paper and embossed with black color box ink pad and clear and bossing powder.

Usually when I create a card design that I like I will make up 5 to 10 of them because I like to send the same card to the group of people I send to on a regular basis and then allow for a couple extras that pop up that need to get a card as well.  that way I don't get confused trying to remember who  I  sent what card to which is  easy for me LOL to do.

I just repeated on the inside the same as what I did on the envelope.

Envelope art was using the layers of the month stamp set.  I love the artsy botanical feel to go with this classy she girl.

Next up is something a little different, inspiration from Stampinton magazine, using a  Black and white theme  and then having the images mounted  with the sewing machine right onto the card stock directly.

The images for these next two cards are from the  SMAK kit of the month August 2015 "a little bit more".

You  will want to make sure that you cover the inside top of the card with some designer paper to cover up the stitch marks from the sewing machine gives it a nice finished look.

I like picking out different trims of  ribbons and  laces and fabric Flowers in the fabric section of Joanns or hobby lobby  to embellish these cards with it's a lot of fun. It gives them a very feminine look and feel.

I made these cards and they are not the usual standard A4 cards they are a larger format, a 5 x 7 cards which works really great with the SMAK  sized stamps and this sewing technique.

I hope you enjoyed these cards today and will come back again tomorrow for another blog post on the journey this week with the Unity Stamp sponsored event. Make sure to leave your comment each day on  each blog post to have your chance to be entered to win a grab bag from Unity stamp company.  If you are inspired by these and make your own creation , be sure to share on the Unity Facebook page.   Happy stamping. Blessings, Michelle
